Abstract
El siguiente artículo plantea una reflexión en torno a los alcances del término “representación” en el ámbito de la arquitectura. Una instancia validada y consolidada a partir de su capacidad de vincular el campo discursivo (teoría) con el campo operativo (proyecto) de la disciplina. Bajo esta condición es posible sostener que la emergencia de la representación está vinculada al carácter proyectual que define a la arquitectura en el contexto de la modernidad. Sin embargo, a partir del desarrollo representacional de la segunda mitad del siglo XX se comenzarán a incorporar variables ignoradas por la noción tradicional de proyecto. En función de esta evolución, es posible identificar el potencial crítico de la representación arquitectónica, permitiendo la apertura de la noción de proyecto y extendiendo los límites y fronteras disciplinares de la arquitectura.
