Abstract
“Twelve Cautionary Tales for Christmas: Premonitions of the Mystical Rebirth of Urbanism”, la colección de Superstudio de los mundos apocalípticos más escalofriantes imaginados por arquitectos del período de postguerra, apareció primero en diciembre de 1971 en la edición de Londres de la revista AD. Las “12 ciudades ideales” se publicaron en forma narrativa y no parecían ni un tratado de arquitectura ni un mani-fiesto político o de vanguardia. Superstudio presentó “12 ciudades ideales” en la galería Mana de Roma, en noviembre de 1971, como un programa radial con actores que leían el texto de cada una de las doce ciudades durante una proyección a dos canales. El siguiente ensayo examina este evento de multimedios y considera cómo Superstudio trascendió las convenciones arquitectónicas que se representaban.
