Abstract

La Torre Velasca (1958), un edificio en altura ubicado en Milán y realizado por la compañía de arquitectos BBPR, fue presentada por Ernesto Rogers, uno de los socios de la empresa, en el CIAM 59’ celebrado en el Kröller-Muller Museum en Otterlo, Holanda. El edificio se convirtió en el centro de un debate internacional entre Rogers y el arquitecto inglés Peter Smithson, generando una discusión relativa a la continuación del proyecto de modernidad en la arquitectura. El artículo, a través de una recreación precisa de la discusión, demuestra que aún cuando las preocupaciones de los arquitectos difieren, encuentran un tema común en la “forma” arquitectónica.
