Abstract
En el presente ensayo me enfocaré en un grupo excepcional de arquitectos y poetas que hace más de sesenta años, mediante grandilocuentes expediciones geo-poéticas por territorios –más y menos vastos– de América, han explorado la desaparición como forma de acción. Intentaré imaginarme la formulación de una estética de la invisibilidad en que la desaparición activa(1) opera como práctica emancipatoria en tanto apuesta lúdica que desafía jerarquías sociopolíticas y económicas reales y provee nuevos horizontes para la vida colectiva. Aunque quizás sea más apropiado, al referirme a la Escuela de Valparaíso, pensar en términos no de una estética, sino de una poética –en el sentido de una poiesis– cuya radicalidad está en su concepción de una arquitectura de vivir juntos, basada en la apertura, riesgo y atrevimiento de exponerse los unos a los otros, a veces hasta el extremo del desvanecimiento.
