Abstract
‘Ventilate. Working bodies, climate, and architecture’ examines air as a critical material and the architectures that were developed to facilitate its movement in interior spaces. The text analyses the relationships between bodies, climate, and architecture through contexts and historic projects and their connection with contemporary conflicts. In particular, it explores how the development of ventilation systems for interior spaces was driven by the regimes of colonialism and slavery.
