Abstract
El presente texto analiza el mall del Pacífico en San Antonio desde cuatro tópicos: el emplazamiento, la accesibilidad, el diseño y las condiciones normativas que autorizaron su materialización. A seis años de su irrupción en el principal puerto del país, el mall abre interrogantes sobre la correcta aplicación de las normas urbanas, sobre la calidad y reconocimiento de la arquitectura chilena y sobre la formación de los arquitectos.
Abstract
This article analyses the Mall of the Pacific in San Antonio considering four aspects: location, accessibility, design and the building regulations that authorised its materialisation. Six years after its irruption into the main seaport of the country, the mall raises questions about the right application of urban regulations, the quality of Chilean architecture and its recognition, and about the training of architects.
