Resumen

This article explores the function of the image in the project process. It is structured around the potentialities of matter (in its "roug- hest" state) and atmospheric phenomena like temperature, humidity, fog and vapour. The use of the image stands out beyond its role as a noun (as a representation of the finite product), and through the analysis of various works shows that the image is interesting as a verb, that is, as a continuous manifestation of the project process in progress.
The article discusses works like “Therme Vals” (Zumthor), “Digestible Gulf Stream” (Rahm) and “Blur Building” (Diller and Scofidio), as well as works of the author himself.
