Abstract
Los proyectos “Tardonaturalezas textiles” e “In- frabotanicas textiles” son parte de la serie Artes Maquinicas. Esta serie restablece la continuidad del conocimiento arquitectonico con la tradicion de las practicas materiales, modelando organi- zaciones y estructuras arquitectonicas a partir de tecnicas artesanales-industriales. La primera serie de proyectos del Laboratorio surgio de la colabo- racion entre el Depto. de Arquitectura de la U. Tec- nica Federico Santa Mari y el Centro del Desierto de Atacama de la U. Catolica.
“Tardonaturalezas textiles” (2008) abstrae y re- configura el atrapanieblas, transformandolo en un sistema complejo que opera a traves de funciona- lidades diversas, como una especie de ‘naturale- za exagerada’ capaz de afiliar procesos dinamicos existentes, acelerandolos y balanceandolos orga- nizativa y formalmente. Por su parte, “Infrabota- nicas textiles” (2009) desarrollo mecanismos de absorcion, distribucion y provision de agua para una plantacion artificialmente asistida, operando no solo como dispositivos pasivos de exhibicion de especies, sino como prototipos para interven- ciones a escala territorial, configurados material y organizacionalmente segun un sustrato de consis- tencia textil y organizados en un jardin botanico para el Centro del Desierto de Atacama.
